Bridal Veil Falls
In June of 2020, the world had fallen apart, but I had not. In order to keep myself sane, I ventured out into the woods of north central Arkansas to get a glimpse of the beauty of my home state; my destination, Bridal Veil Falls near Heber Springs. The woods were quiet and serene as I carefully trekked downward over roots and rocks to the creek below.
There wasn’t a soul in sight as I approached the creek. I could hear gurgling sounds of the clear water rumbling over the rocky terrain of the creekbed. In the distance, the sound of the waterfall was faint due to a lack of rainfall.
I cautiously made my way toward the soothing sound of water falling. The size of the rocks varied as I drew closer to the waterfall from pebbles to boulders. I made sure my footing was thought out because the last thing I wanted was to get trapped since I was by myself. As I moved closer, there was a large hollowed out tree perched on some boulders near the pool at the bottom of the waterfall that caught my attention. It was the perfect combination for a photograph.
Now, the waterfall was louder, but not so much as to drown out the sounds of the surrounding forest. I could see why the waterfall had been named Bridal Veil Falls. A sheer curtain of water plunged thinly down the rock face depicting a white veil as like a bridal veil.
The sunlight played tricks on the cascade from passing clouds and shade from the surrounding forest. The sight of rainbows effects from the rays of sunlight came and went. It was challenging to get a decent photo, but the results turned out great.
