In light of the recent wildfires concerning the giant sequoia trees in California, it seemed right to highlight these majestic trees in a post. Read the statement from the California State Parks about the loss of the Pioneer Tree in Samuel P. Taylor State Park from March of 2022. Wildfire has been threatening the giant Sequoia trees in Yosemite National Park within the last week. At this time, the Washburn wildfire is headed east away from the Mariposa Grove which contains the Washington Tree and the Grizzly Giant. These two trees are the largest trees in the grove.
