Foot Treads

Joshua 1:2 – 5

1“Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. 3Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. 4From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory. 5No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.”

God Goes with Me

Foot treads, paths as some might say, are undeniably a part of life, or even can be argued it is life. The path each of us take can lead through valleys and mountains, through shadow and light, and through heartaches and joys. Despite the unknown destinations or the hindrances that may befall us, we press on into the nights and days of our foot treads.

The Jordan River probably seemed impassable for Joshua and the Israelites, but his trust in God to be beside him every step of the way gave Joshua hope. God would not have led the Israelites all this say to the Promised Land, then disappear.

Our foot treads are the same today; where I go, God goes with me. When I step out in faith, God is already there. When the difficult times come, God will not leave nor will He forget me. Where my foot treads, God has already given me the ground to stand on; when my foot treads into the wilderness, my God has given me all I need to go forward into the great wilderness of life.
