Jesus inspires action to counter the culture

So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men John 4:28 NASB

When the woman understood that she was talking with the Messiah, she was motivated to share the Good News. So much so, she left her water pot to run off into the village.

Typically, a woman in that culture would not have shared her testimony. Most times it would be disregarded. The men of the village wouldn’t have anything to say her to avoid any impropriety.

Yet, the men of the village did listen to her and they responded. They, too, came to hear what the Messiah had to say.

The woman was excited about the Messiah. The story she told to the men was received despite the source of where it came from. She didn’t let the culture of the day dissuade her from doing what needed to be done. She, just as Jesus had done, took it upon herself to set aside the cultural norms to tell the greatest message that changed her life.

We need to follow her example in telling the world that the Messiah is coming. He’s coming for His church, His bride. We need to be ready. Don’t let the pressures of culture keep you from doing what needs to be done.
